Reelstar-Auto-2-NF-S

Automatic dual reel-to-reel multiplunger molding system designed for contactless smartcard modules, discrete small signal packages and ultra-thin tape-based packages. The Reelstar offers unrivaled high throughput, competitive pricing, low compound waste and high-precision mold tooling. The two reels are controlled independently, as are the transfer, reel-handling and pellet-handling units. Ability to run with only the front reel or only the back reel.

High uph and high-precision mold

R2R system uph is largely determined by effective mold length and machine time. The Reelstar platform offers a mold length of 350mm and very short machine time to achieve maximum uph. The Reelstar-Auto-2-NF-S is equipped with 2 reels and achieves double output. The molds are designed with smallcavity blocks enabling very precise pitch control for maximum accuracy in package offset and cavity depth precision. The changeover to other package sizes has been streamlined, making it easier and cheaper. A complete spare mold is no longer needed. One or two spare cavity blocks will suffice, which reduces stock and capital investment.

Ultra-thin endless strip handling < 60 micron

A synchronously controlled transport system is used to eliminate the friction and force of traditional brake/drive transport systems. This, in turn, enables very gentle handling of the thinnest lead frames and tapes. New low-force degating principle to enable the handling of ultra-thin reels. Reel will not move during degating process.

Cleaning sheets, melamine pellets or off-line mold cleaning.
